It’s time to start planning what your edible books will be for the library’s annual Edible Books Festival on Friday, April 5. The contest is open to all students, staff, and faculty. Enter as many creations as you wish!
Entries should have some literary connection and must be made from edible ingredients, though the final product itself need not be eaten. Entries could look like a book cover, be a play on its title or be inspired by its content and characters.
It’s our 15th anniversary of hosting this event in the library, so we are encouraging everyone to consider submitting an entry! Our theme this year is comic books, but your entry can be inspired by any book. Consult Digital Commons for more information and for photos of past entries.
Entries are due in the library by 11 AM. The Ursinus community (including prospective students and families that are visiting for Admitted Students Day) are invited to visit the 1st floor of the library between 11 AM and 1 PM and participate in:
- Voting for your favorite entries (categories include Your Favorite Entry, Best Book Representation, Most Appetizing, and Least Appetizing).
- A “Guess the Book” contest (participants who answer all 10 questions right will be entered into a raffle to win a Kimberton Foods gift card and cookbook).
- A raffle for prizes donated by New Wave Comics and Collectibles and Towne Book Center Wine Bar and Cafe (you must be present at 1:15 to win).
Winners will be announced at 1:15 PM and then the campus is invited to join us in eating the leftovers!
We encourage everyone to consider participating in this fun campus community event.
