Biology Research Speed Dating Event

Potential student researchers learned about the projects occurring in the Biology Department at a Speed Dating event on September 22nd.

Organized as part of the regular “Monday Biology Events” schedule, over 30 students first asked questions of a 15-member panel made up of current Biology, Neurobiology, and BCMB research students.  Following the panel, which focused on questions such as “how to find a research mentor” and “what’s it like to travel to an international scientific meeting,” the students began speed dating.  They spent two minutes talking with each researcher.  Not only did they learn about the opportunities available, but the current researchers honed their “elevator talk” skills.
