“The Complete History of Ursinus College [Abridged]” Available in Digital Commons

A complete performance of the sesquicentennial play, as well as the short film which accompanies it, can be viewed and downloaded from Ursinus College’s institutional repository.

The original sesquicentennial play, “The Complete History of Ursinus College [Abridged],” written and directed by Professor of Theater Domenick Scudera, has been preserved in its entirety for current and future members of the Ursinus College community to enjoy.  Written specifically for our 150th anniversary, the play utilizes the structure of the core curriculum (Quest: Open Questions, Open Minds) to ask questions which immerse the audience in the unique and fascinating history of Ursinus College.  The video recording of the performance can be downloaded from our institutional repository.  Users will need to create or log in to an existing Digital Commons account using their Ursinus email address to access the video.

To create an account:

  1. Go to Digital Commons @ Ursinus
  2. Click “My Account” near the top of the page
  3. Create an account by using the “Sign Up” button
  4. Use your Ursinus email address when creating the account
  5. Check your email and click the provided link to confirm your account

Also available to stream or download is the humorous short film by Tommy Armstrong, Class of 2020, which appears within the play.  “In Search of the Mind: The Ursinus Quest” takes a light-hearted look at the early history of Ursinus College and can be enjoyed on its own.  Look for tongue-in-cheek narration by our own President Brock Blomberg as well as Ursinus faculty and staff as notable figures from the past.

Whether you missed the live performance or just want to see them again, the play and film are a great way to celebrate our 150th anniversary!
