Student-Faculty partnership leads to publication
Congratulations to Courtney DuChene ’19 and Carol Dole, whose work has been published in the journal of the Jane Austen Society.
Drawing on her honors project from last year, Courtney DuChene ’19 and Dr. Dole have published a piece in Persuasions On-Line, the journal of the Jane Austen Society.
DuChene’s honors project, which was supervised by Dole and Alice Leppert of Media & Communications Studies, focused on updated adaptations of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice and Vladimir Nabokov’s Lolita. As a follow-up, DuChene and Dole submitted a proposal on updates of Pride and Prejudice for a special issue of Persuasions.
The co-authored piece focuses on Austen’s sexually transgressive character Lydia as she appears in adaptations set in modern times. You can read the piece here.
