Turning Deposits into Donations

Ursinus contributed $100 to the Daily Bread Community Food Pantry for each deposit received during the virtual Admitted Students Experience on April 21-23.

After the unique three-day event, the college donated $5,000 to the Daily Bread, which is the fourth largest food pantry in Montgomery County, serving approximately 300 families or 1,200 individuals each month.

“We are a community of students, faculty and staff who are committed to the greater good,” Director of Admissions Diane Greenwood said in a video to prospective students. “We understand the incredible difficulties individuals and families are experiencing in this challenging time and we want to be part of building a strong network in the local community.”

Prospective Ursinus students and their families had a chance to participate in an Admitted Students Experience online over three days, where they took part in live student panels, connected with academic departments and tuned into the Ursinus experience through videos and engaging sessions in order to guide their college decision from the comfort of their homes during the COVID-19 pandemic.
