ANSO Summer Fellow Raises Significant Representation Issues

Anthropology and Sociology student, Kyra Clark ’21, recently completed a Summer Fellows Research Project on representation in Accessibility and Patient Advocacy Organizations. Kyra was mentored by Assistant Professor, Lauren Wynne.  Initially, Kyra planned to do research on how medical school textbooks may cause implicit biases in students.  However, during the research, her curiosity was piqued by a different representation issue and she decided to pursue it. The resulting presentation raised significant issues and questions which lay groundwork for potential future research, while also provoking thought on the question of, “What should matter to me?”
