Career and Post-Graduate Development

Want to have some in-person experience while earning internship credit?*

Once students have moved off campus for the Thanksgiving break they can go on site for internship work hours, as well as intern remotely.

Students will want to confirm that they can balance the internship hours and expectations with their academic demands, while being successful with both pursuits. Starting internship hours once off-campus, would give students more days to participate in an internship and earn the needed hours for credit prior to returning to campus for spring semester.

If you would like to consider the option of starting internship hours in late November, please talk to your advisor for guidance, their approval of the internship, and department requirements. We also encourage you to make an appointment with a Career Coach to learn details about the credit process.

  • In-person internship hours can begin once you have moved off campus around Thanksgiving.
  • Discuss with the employer the expectations and opportunities related to working in-person, remotely, or a hybrid of both formats.
  • 3 credit internships require 120 hours of work and 4 credit internships require 160 hours of work; the expectation is that these hours would be completed prior to January 4, 2021 or before testing to return the spring semester, any exceptions would require approval through the Dean’s office.
  • During the spring semester, only remote work hours, not in-person hours, will be approved for students living on campus.
