Alumni Only Course: Ethics & The Ursinus COVID-19 Response

This alumni-only course will offer an overview of the Ursinus plan and a group discussion of the ethical obligations that institutions of higher education have faced during COVID-19.

Aiming at a sufficiently safe and educationally meaningful fall semester, Ursinus College had to weigh many factors for students, staff, and faculty: health, privacy, testing speed and efficacy, and compliance with masks and distancing guidelines. The challenges were vast. In the case of the ethics of an infectious disease, a person can be simultaneously “vector” and “victim,” as bioethicists have noted.
