In a virtual meeting held during November 2020, Mike Twarogowski was surprised with the news that he received the 2020 Flora A. Tortorelli Staff Service Award.
The Flora A. Tortorelli Staff Service Award goes to a staff member in recognition for their hard work and extraordinary commitment to the college. I am pleased to award this year’s Flora A Tortorelli award to Mike Twarogowski.
Words written when describing Mike include “a true team player, cheerful, approachable, honest and creative.” One colleague wrote, “He helps EVERYONE – with a smile and that signature laugh. He makes things happen and is an unsung hero of every major event on this campus from Homecoming to Commencement and everything in between.”
Another colleague noted that “Mike is the first person to volunteer to help with something - whether or not it is his “responsibility.” He has taken the initiative to learn from the other trades supervisors and has proved himself invaluable to the entire department, and further to the entire campus. Everyone who works at Ursinus knows who ‘Mike T.’ is. In my opinion, Mike embodies the spirit of what the Tortorelli Award is all about - he takes pride in his job and cares very much about the college and its mission.”
Thank you, Mike, for your work and congratulations on this award!
