The development of our zoom capability allowed the organizers to invite alums who are in various parts of the country in a variety of careers. The alumni speakers were

  • Mariana Bergerson, M.S. – Deputy Refuge Manager at the John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge at Tinicum, Philadelphia, PA

  • Adam DiCaprio- PhD, Senior scientist in the R&D NMR Structure Elucidation group at Merck, West Point, PA

  • Michelle Janelsins, MPH, PhD- Associate Professor - Department of Surgery, Cancer Control (SMD), University of Rochester Medical Center, School of Medicine and Dentistry, Rochester, NY

  • Alicia Morgans, MD, MPH – Associate Professor of Medicine (Hematology and Oncology) at the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, IL.

All of the speakers talked about what they do in their work every day. They also spoke about what they wished they had known when they were Ursinus students and what they would still like to do. The speakers agreed that they wish they had known about the great variety of jobs that one can do with each of their degrees- whether MS, PhD., or MD. They advised the students to reach out to people in the work force to network in order to find internship and job opportunities. MAPS President Emily Cid hosted the event which was attended by over 60 students.
