Senior Music Capstone Spotlight: Jamie Polson (’22)
In the coming weeks, we will feature a series of short articles featuring the work of four senior Music Majors, as they engage in Fall creative “Capstone” projects, for the culmination of their work in music. This week, we begin with multi-instrumentalist Jamie Polson (’22)!
Jamie, a songwriter, performer, and music producer, is creating a 5-6-song EP which will debut in early December. Jamie, who sings, plays guitar, ukulele, piano, and drums, will manage all aspect of the project, including writing the songs, performing all parts, recording and producing the album. Jamie’s influences include folk and new-folk artists such as Pete Seeger, Bob Dylan, and Sufjan Stevens. A long-time participant of both the Philly Folk Festival and the Keystone Boy Choir, Jamie draws from all of these experiences when creating new work.
Stay tuned for an announcement of a “Night with Jamie,” a free mini-concert and listening party of the EP, to be held on the evening of December 5th. You can follow Jamie on Instagram at @jamietheoptimistofficial, on Spotify, Apple Music and iTunes.
