Myrin Acquires New Student Artwork by Allison Fiore ’24

This year our selection from the Berman Museum’s Annual Student Art Exhibition for 2022 was an oil on canvas by Allison Fiore, Class of 2024, titled: “The Outsider’s Perspective, 2021.” The painting was selected by a committee of Library Staff to become the newest edition to the Myrin Library Student Art Collection.

We were thrilled to add Allison Fiore’s piece to our permanent student art collection. Allison told us: “This piece brings together ideas of my life in my hometown and my life here at Ursinus. I incorporated new techniques through my use of texture and color. The point was to try something new, fun, and different.”

The Myrin Student Art Collection includes many types of media: oil paintings, mixed media, digital and analog photographic images, colored pencil and charcoal sketches and drawings, pastels, watercolors, wood and linoleum cut prints, wood carvings, plaster, wire, wood, foam and fabric sculptures. Works from the Ursinus College Annual Student Art Exhibition were selected and purchased by Charles A. Jamison for 18 consecutive years. Currently, they are being selected by a committee of library staff. The collection is on permanent display in the Library.

More about the Collection can be found on Digital Commons at this link.

“The Outsider’s Perspective, 2021” by Allison Fiore is located on the third floor of Myrin.
