Ursinus Choral Group Makes Its Radio City Music Hall Debut

Voices of Ursinus, the college’s choral group, recently traveled to New York City to perform as the opening act at the famed Christmas Spectacular starring the Radio City Rockettes.

Nicole Snodgrass joined the college as choral director this semester and wasted no time booking the premiere event.

“I have been a choral director for nearly thirty years and am always researching performance opportunities,” said Snodgrass. “I knew that Radio City Music Hall offered choral groups the incredible opportunity to perform as the opening act for the Rockettes in their Christmas Spectacular. When I accepted the position as choral director, I immediately booked the Voices of Ursinus to perform at Radio City Music Hall and told them about this incredible opportunity at our second rehearsal.”

Choral member Sabrina Radix ’26 documented part of the trip—including clips of their performance of “Jingle Bells” and “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree”—on the college’s Instagram page. In addition to performing, the group enjoyed some of the city’s iconic holiday sights, such as the tree in Rockefeller Center and the oversized ornaments on 6th Avenue.

“It means the world to be able to offer this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to my singers,” said Snodgrass. “They are fabulous singers and extraordinary human beings. Sharing this moment will certainly be a memory that we will all cherish. This is a first for Ursinus College and will be the first of many wonderful performances.”

The group, which was previously known as the Meistersingers, performed at the inauguration of President Robyn Hannigan earlier this semester, and plans to sing during the MLK Week interfaith service as well as baccalaureate.
