Staff Assembly Learning Circles Return
Join your colleagues for an inspiring and educational book discussion this summer. Staff Learning Circles are small discussion groups (less than ten participants each) who spend time in the summer or during a semester reading and discussing a book. Books are supplied by Staff Assembly.
The spring/summer 2023 books are:
- “The Courage to Be Disliked: The Japanese Phenomenon That Shows You How to Change Your Life and Achieve Real Happiness” By Ichiro Kishimi and Fumitake Koga
- “Year of Yes: How to Dance It Out, Stand in the Sun, and Be Your Own Person” By Shonda Rhimes
- “Disability Visibility: First-Person Stories from the Twenty-First Century” By Alice Wong
All staff are eligible to take part. By signing up, you agree to meet with others in your Learning Circle at least once a month throughout the summer. As a group, you will decide on your meeting times and methods. Staff Assembly will supply the books. Each Learning Circle will hold their first meeting over lunch in Wismer.
Each Learning Circle is capped in number of participants to facilitate scheduling and conversation – first come, first served! If your first choice is full, we defer to one of your other choices.
