Open Access Week 2023: October 23 - 29

Each year, International Open Access Week is organized by the Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition (SPARC) in partnership with the Open Access Week Advisory Committee to raise awareness and encourage events to promote the OA movement.

Check out the list of events happening around the world (many of which can be joined for free, remotely) at openaccessweek.org. This year’s theme focuses on community over commercialization and, per the website, “encourages conversations about which approaches to open scholarship prioritize the best interests of the public and the academic community — and which do not.”

The following events may be of particular interest.  Follow the links below for more information and to register:

Alabama’s Death Row Archive: Amplifying Marginalized Voices (Kennesaw State University): October 24, 1:00-1:45 PM

Open Access Publishing 101 (University of New Mexico): October 24, 2:00-3:00 PM

World Librarians Panel (University of Massachusetts): October 24, 7:00-8:30 PM
