Why did you decide to become a language major?
To be honest, I never thought about becoming a Spanish major until I finished the fall semester of my freshman year. I decided to pursue a degree in Spanish because I believe it will be rewarding and beneficial to me in the future. Also, I want to learn a new language so that one day I will be able to communicate with others who may not be able to speak English.
What has been your most rewarding experience in your language major so far?
I am really excited to study abroad in Latin America in the fall! I can not wait to be immersed in a new culture and learn the language with everyday experience in order to become more fluent in the language.
What are your plans after Ursinus?
I do not have set plans after I graduate from Ursinus, but I would like to possibly teach at the high school level or use my degree to go directly to the job market perhaps in social work or human resources. If I were to attend graduate school, it would not be right after Ursinus because I would like to see what I can do with a bachelor’s degree. I definitely plan to use Spanish wherever and whenever possible!
