At LiquidHub it was my job to create a workable solution to a unique business problem. The problem was the difficulty of onboarding new employees at a rapidly growing company. The solution was to create an online platform to streamline the process and provide a dedicated server and support structure for the process. The process was meant to make new hires feel welcome and want to expand their careers with LiquidHub as well as understand our company’s goals and mission.
I utilized my skills in various adobe programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Flash, and Edge Animate to create logos, edit photos, create animations and then transfer them to the web. I also utilized knowledge of HTML 5 and CSS 3 to create the user interface and provide users with a personal and unique experience. I also used my Digital Video skills to create company videos that would translate and demonstrate the mission statement to employees better than words.
Who I Met that Made a Difference
Senior Associates of the company who introduced me and my team to new ways to looking at our problem as well as the correct way and procedure to address our issue.
They have kept me through the winter with the intent of placing me somewhere in the company after I graduate.
The Coolest Part of the Experience
Being put to work. I wasn’t completing menial tasks, but was actually assigned to a problem that the company wanted to fix immediately. I worked in a team and was able to function somewhat independently and learn how a workplace such as this functions on a day to day basis.
Take risks. Take a step in a direction you never have and you may end up where you were supposed to be all along
