T.C. is responsible for providing direct clinical services to students, which includes individual and group therapy, assessment, outreach education, consultation to students, staff, and parents, and crisis intervention.
T.C. joined the Counseling and Wellness staff in 2014. Prior to joining the staff at Ursinus, T.C. spent three years, including his pre-doctoral internship, working with undergraduate and graduate students at the Drexel University Counseling Center. He has also worked with athletes at Bryn Mawr College on stress management and performance enhancement, and has spent time working with children and adolescents in schools and residential settings. In addition to earning his Ph.D. in Clinical Developmental Psychology, T.C. is a certified school psychologist in Pennsylvania.
T.C. is a generalist, meaning he enjoys working with a wide range of student difficulties and concerns. Clinically, T.C. is especially interested in working with anxiety, learning disabilities and difficulties, family of origin issues, and developmental concerns. His approach to individual therapy is integrative, but is heavily influenced by developmental, relational, and systems theories. In practice, this means that T.C. strives to understand students’ difficulties, concerns, and questions as they see them, and works hard to collaboratively move students toward their goals and a greater understanding of themselves and their relationships. T.C. also enjoys teaching mindfulness to students in a group setting to help them to tackle academic, performance, and general anxiety concerns.
