This program was designed to provide American undergraduates with the resources and encouragement they need to acquire skills and experiences in areas of the world critical to the future security of our nation, in exchange for a commitment to seek work in the federal government (also available for graduate study). Award amounts are based on the study abroad costs and financial aid information provided by the applicant. The maximum award is $8,000 for a summer, $10,000 for a semester, or $20,000 for a full academic year.
