Choosing to study Anthropology has been an exciting adventure for me; there is always something interesting to learn in the ANSO Department. Out of all my classes at Ursinus, my favorites were anything about the past. All of my professors were extremely supportive, especially when I planned to apply for graduate schools. I am now at Georgia State working towards my Master in Anthropology with a focus in Archaeology. For my thesis, I’m thinking of performing some geochemical analyses on ancient materials. Since soils and water sources vary over the globe in terms of trace heavy elements like strontium, examining the presence of these trace elements in materials like pottery in a museum collection, will allow me to determine the probable geographic source of that clay.
