Facilitates accommodations for students under the American with Disabilities Amendments Act and empowers students to reach their academic potential through advice and support.
Shammah comes to Ursinus from Delaware County Community College where he served as the Coordinator for Disability Services since 2010. Prior to working at Delaware County Community College, Shammah worked in post-acute brain injury rehabilitation for ten years.
He is an active member of ACPA: College Student Educators International, serving as a member of the Ethics Committee, ACPA Foundation Board, Standing Committee on Disability, and Past-Commission Chair for Two-Year Colleges. Shammah is also a member of the Pennsylvania College Personal Association, Delaware Valley Network for Higher Education Disability Service Directors, and sits on the Board of Directors for the National Council for Student Development. He holds a Master’s Degree from Widener University in Higher Education Leadership and is currently finishing his Ed.D. from Widener University in Higher Education Leadership.
In his downtime, Shammah enjoys watching Notre Dame football and basketball, running, hiking, and reading about the history of higher education. Shammah lives on campus as part of the On-Call Student Affairs Crisis Response Team.
