African American and Africana Studies

All Majors & Minors

Jordene Downer

I have chosen to minor in African-American and Africana studies to learn about the various cultures, and lives of black people around the world and how it has shaped the way people live today.

Before I began my freshman year, I participated in a summer program at Ursinus named Crigler, where I began taking Intro AAAS. The course really changed the way I thought about the African-American and Africana lifestyle and allowed me to learn a lot more than what I learned throughout my earlier education.
