About
I’ve always been intrigued with the human body and was born with a passion for sports and exercise, so this major gave me the pleasure of incorporating both into my learning. I knew I wanted to work with children in the health care industry since 1st grade and being an HEP major seemed to give me the most opportunities in doing so.
I am a member of the Ursinus field hockey team, the Centennial Conference champions. I am also involved in refereeing intramural games and coach field hockey during the summer months. I enjoy working with children.
How I Stay Involved
My best advice for future students is to be optimistic. As I mentioned, I’ve wanted to work with children in the health care industry since I was young myself, but I have changed my mind countless times from considering becoming a surgeon, a physician’s assistant, even a teacher, and finally decided on a pediatric nurse, with the help of the wonderful HEP department. Remember to use your professors as resources and get to know others in the department; you’ll truly treasure their advice and the relationships you develop are ones you may never forget.
Life After Ursinus
I aspire to go to nursing school to pursue a career as a pediatric nurse.
