Prevention and Advocacy

Kennedy Houck

Upon first being introduced to the Peer Advocate program during freshman orientation I knew I wanted to be involved with a program that promoted a safe campus environment for students as this particular program did.  In hearing the stories of sexual misconduct that were shared by the members of the program, it allowed me to understand just how important promotion of awareness through education is in preventing instances of sexual misconduct on campus.  If students are aware about the issues surrounding sexual misconduct, there exists a responsibility to the community to rethink one’s actions and promote a safer environment in which students can thrive academically and socially.

People are most likely to find me either in Pfahler, my favorite building on campus, working on homework, or in Wismer socializing and laughing with friends.
