Lisa Abraham
Senior Parlee Center Fellow
I am interested in going into the field of medicine. The Parlee Center is able to provide me with a means to learn how to effectively communicate scientific issues to the public. The Parlee Center will allow me to hone my communication skills which I will be able to use in my future career in medicine and education.

My Research
I am currently involved in research with Dr. Beth Bailey’s lab. Our lab is studying the effects of pregnancy on heart cell size and calcium intake using a mouse model.
My Favorite Parlee Center Events
I really enjoyed Dr. Tyrone Hayes’ and Dr. David Skelly’s visits. They both presented differing thoughts about endocrine disruption in frogs, which helped give me a wider perspective on this topic.

Life After Ursinus
As a Parlee Center Fellow, my goal is to learn to effectively communicate healthcare-related topics to the public. After Ursinus, I plan to go to Drexel University College of Medicine through the Early Assurance program at Ursinus. I hope to practice medicine and teach in underserved populations.
