Overview

The Mathematics and Computer Science Department at Ursinus College invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level to begin fall 2019. Applicants are invited from all areas of computer science.  We seek teacher-scholars who are passionate about undergraduate education and research.

Responsibilities

Teaching responsibilities will include both introductory and higher-level computer science courses for undergraduates and the Common Intellectual Experience, a liberal arts seminar for all first-year students. Tenure track faculty have a teaching load of 3/2 (five courses per year). 

The successful candidate will also be expected to establish a research program that engages student researchers with opportunities for co-publications and presentations.  Preference will be given to candidates enthusiastic for teaching a wide variety of courses including graphics, database, and systems courses. 

Requirements and Qualifications

A Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely-related field is strongly preferred;  ADB with anticipated completion in Fall 2019 will be considered.
