Assistant Professor, Chemistry (Non-tenured Track)

Overview
The Department of Chemistry at Ursinus College invites applications for an Assistant Professor (non-tenure track with a promotable pathway) faculty position. The successful candidate will join a dedicated team of faculty and staff in an ACS-certified department and will participate in the biochemistry and molecular biology program. The chemistry department is housed in Pfahler Hall and offers dedicated student research laboratories and instruments suitable for undergraduate research.
Responsibilities
We seek a chemist who is committed to excellence in undergraduate education at a highly selective liberal arts college. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the multi-section two-semester organic chemistry laboratory sequence as well as teaching introductory and/or advanced chemistry courses appropriate to the candidate’s expertise. The ability to contribute to chemistry courses besides organic chemistry is desirable. This position is intended to be a long-term teaching and mentoring position (4 courses per semester). Opportunities exist for interested candidates to pursue activities in chemical education and/or engage undergraduate students in research.
Requirements and Qualifications
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in chemistry or chemical education. Post-doctoral research experience and/or an independent track record of teaching at the college/university level is preferred.
