Abbie Cichowski Kim ’10
Senior Development Officer
This year, Abbie will be celebrating her 12th year as a member of the Advancement team at Ursinus. In her current role as Senior Development Officer, she works to engage alumni, parents and friends of the college as they align their philanthropic goals with institutional needs in support of our students, primarily at the $25,000 and above level annually. She also works with various volunteer groups, such as reunion committees and the Philanthropy Committee, to help increase support for the college through peer-to-peer outreach.
Abbie brings to this position prior experience as Director of Leadership Annual Gifts (2021-2022), Director of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving (2020), a member of our Major Gifts (2014-2020) and Alumni Relations teams (2010-2014). Past responsibilities include: direct major gift fundraising, oversight of reunion committees, volunteer management, event-planning, goal-setting and partnerships across campus.
She has served as Chair of the Professional Development subcommittee of Staff Assembly, a member of the History & Archives subcommittee of the Ursinus 150 Committee and co-Historian for Ursinus College’s chapter of Phi Beta Kappa.
Background
Abbie is a proud Ursinus alumna, graduating Phi Beta Kappa in 2010 with Interdisciplinary Distinguished Honors in Media & Communication Studies and Theatre.
As a student, she was a member of the Ursinus College Ambassadors, a leadership organization on campus dedicated to community and campus service. As a Theatre major, she acted in a number of productions and directed for the student-run Breakaway Student Productions. Abbie also served as a Writing Fellow and Tutor for the Center for Writing, President of the MCS Honors Society, an Admission Tour Guide and played intramural basketball and soccer. She studied abroad in Florence, Italy during the fall semester of her junior year.
In addition to acting, Abbie’s interests include dancing, travel and creative writing. She also never turns down the chance to play a pick-up basketball game.
