About

Excerpt of Liz’s profile on wpxi.com:

Pennsylvania native Liz Kilmer joined the WPXI-TV news team in January of 2018. She debuted on the morning show, ultimately earning two Emmy awards for her live reporting. Liz later played a major role in launching two newscasts produced by WPXI. You can catch her weeknights on the Breaking News Desk on Channel 11 News at 4 p.m., and anchoring alongside David Johnson for Channel 11 News on FOX 53 at 6:30 p.m. Before moving to Pittsburgh, Liz worked for WAVY-TV in the Virginia Beach area. There, she reported in the evenings, presenting late-breaking stories nightly (and enjoying warm winters)!

Before moving south, Liz reported within a different region of PA, working for WFMZ-TV in Berks County. There, she had the opportunity to cover several high-profile corruption investigations.

Liz began her career as a multimedia journalist at WAND-TV in Central Illinois. There, she shot and edited her own stories while operating a bureau in Champaign. Liz’s work has been awarded by The Associated Press and recognized by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

Liz got her first taste of broadcast journalism as a student at Ursinus College, not far from where she grew up in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. There, she interned at the CBS and FOX affiliates in Philadelphia. She also spent a semester in London, interning at a radio station and interviewing British celebrities and politicians. Liz graduated Phi Beta Kappa, summa cum laude, with a degree in Media and Communication Studies and an academic minor in English.
