Emergency Management Coordinator
Serving the Ursinus college community as a member of the Campus Safety team since 2003 and as Emergency Management Coordinator since 2017, Chris Wilcox brings extensive medical, fire and emergency service knowledge to the position. Formerly the emergency management coordinator and assistant fire marshal for Lower Pottsgrove Township in Montgomery County, Chris graduated Cum Laude from Montgomery County Community College’s Fire Science Associates Degree program. He holds three certifications from the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) culminating in Professional Certification and is also a state-certified firefighter and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).
With the support of his wife, Jo, Chris also serves the community as an amateur radio operator. Holding an FCC Extra Class Amateur Radio License, Chris donates his time speaking to community groups, teaching the next generation about “Ham Radio” through the non-profit group Education Alliance for Amateur Radio, and has led broadcasts from campus events including 150 Fest in September, 2019. In addition, Chris continues to serve as a volunteer firefighter and EMT with the Ringing Hill Fire Company, where he previously served as assistant chief.
