Michele Poruban

Michele provides leadership and oversite to experiential learning functions in the office of Career and Post-Graduate Development, including work with the campus internship and externship programs, while also assisting students and alumni in career planning. She guides individuals during one-on-one appointments and group sessions on a variety of career topics, such as major and career exploration, job and internship search, professional networking, and graduate school planning. Michele is also actively involved in the planning and implementation of a student peer associate team for the office, which includes management of the office’s marketing plan, and assists in the development of the student career curriculum for an online internship preparation course.

Background

Michele joined the CPD team in the summer of 2009 and is very happy to be a part of the liberal arts community at Ursinus College. Prior to Ursinus, Michele worked with traditional and adult students at Montgomery County Community College, assisting with academic planning, transfer preparation and student orientations. She also served as a founding member of the Student Support and Referral Team. Additionally, Michele brings with her eight years of teaching and guidance counseling experience in the public school system. Michele and her spouse live near Skippack Village in Montgomery County with their three sons and labs, Derby and Naira.
