Terry Winegar
Professor of Psychology
My scholarly interests center around cultural-historical mediation of human development. Initially this led to research on social development of preschool-aged children. More recently it includes identity development in early adulthood and social dynamics of power and privilege.
Terry Winegar, Ph.D., is a Professor of Psychology at Ursinus College. He received a B.A. in Psychology from St. Ambrose College in Davenport, Iowa. He was awarded a M.A. in Education and Child Development and a Ph.D. in Human Development from Bryn Mawr College. His research interests started with social development of preschool-aged children, particularly their developing understanding of routine social events.

Teaching
Teaching includes courses on human development, introductory and advanced research methods and psychology of power and privilege.
Research Interests
Dr. Winegar’s current research interests remain in the general area of social interaction and development and include: psychology of power and privilege, emerging adulthood and identity development, and career-span development of college faculty.
