Annual Report

Helen Brabant-Bleakley ’18

Helen came to Ursinus at the suggestion of her family friend, the late President Bobby Fong. I met Helen on move-in day and she wasted no time telling me about how excited she was to find her home at Ursinus. Helen more than made her home—she immersed herself in Ursinus. Her passion for social justice and civic engagement has fueled her Ursinus experience, and in 2016, she taught French to refugees while interning at a nonprofit organization in France. She says that work changed her life when she was reminded that, “although they have had experiences she can never understand, some things are universal, such as fear, hope and love.”
