As a high school student, Mya sought a rigorous college theater program in which she could explore all facets of theater. She found it at Ursinus. Last year, she performed in productions of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and By the Way, Meet Vera Stark. She not only shines as a performer, but also as a young scholar. Mya explored colorism in the work of American playwrights for a Summer Fellows project, interned with the prestigious Pig Iron Theater Company during PhillyX and performed twice in the Holocaust Remembrance Day readings for the Women, Theater, and the Holocaust events at the Center for Jewish History in New York. Mya continues to share her talents with the Ursinus community as president of Delta Pi Sigma, a gender-neutral fraternity; vice president of Breakaway Student Productions; and as a resident assistant for the Crigler Program.
