Andy oversees all aspects of publicity and media relations for the College’s 25 varsity athletic programs.
Andy Edwards took over the Director of Athletic Communications post on an interim basis in November of 2015 and was promoted to full-time status before the conclusion of the 2015-16 athletic year. A 2010 graduate of the University of Notre Dame, Edwards oversees all aspects of publicity and media relations for the College’s 25 varsity athletic programs.
Prior to his arrival in Collegeville, Edwards spent more than a year as the athletic communications intern at Chestnut Hill College.
No stranger to the Centennial Conference, Edwards served as Assistant Sports Information Director at Muhlenberg College during the 2013-14 scholastic year.
Following his collegiate education, Edwards gained invaluable writing experience at the Daily Local News of West Chester, Pennsylvania, and at The Trentonian of Trenton, New Jersey, where he interned in 2010. As a sports staff writer at the Daily Local from 2010-2013, he contributed to an improved layout for the sport section, trained coworkers on basic pagination and editing skills, shot and edited video clips, as well as managed the publication’s social media platforms.
Passionate about basketball, Edwards co-founded CityofBasketballLove.com in 2012. The website is a rapidly growing internet presence devoted to full-scale coverage of collegiate basketball in Philadelphia.
Edwards graduated from Notre Dame in 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. He resides in South Philadelphia with his wife, Molly, and infant son, Luke.
