Responsibilities

Overview:

  • Serve as a campus and community resource and provide helpful, friendly assistance in a professional manner
  • Receive and triage phone calls; dispatch Safety Officers or UC EMS as needed
  • Share responsibility for duty phone; Serve in an on call capacity during 2 weeks (dates to be determined). While on call, Associate must be within 5 miles or 15 minutes of campus
  • Serve on day and night duty and building round rotations.
  • Communicate policies and community standards to conference guests and residents
  • Maintain records of calls and daily activity; Address and document violations
  • Assist conference guests by efficiently checking them in/out; Facilitate residence hall access when guests lose or misplace keys
  • Assist with drop-offs and pick-ups at day camps
  • Maintain confidentiality for residents, guests and staff
  • Be familiar with and effectively implement Housing Emergency Procedures, demonstrating calm leadership in an emergency
  • Prepare buildings for guest arrival and provide follow-up at the conclusion of events
  • Maintain positive working relationships with College staff and community partners
  • Other duties or projects, as assigned

Compensation:

  1. $3,000 stipend - distributed on a bi-weekly basis in accordance with the Business Office’s student payroll schedule.
  2. On-campus housing - single room
  3. 5 meals per week during dining service hours
  4. 2 Ursinus staff shirts

Requirements and Qualifications

Qualifications

Professional demeanor; Good interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills; Ability to provide quality customer service to individuals from diverse backgrounds and effectively deal with people in difficult situations. Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously; Remain calm in stressful situations; Strong knowledge of campus and community resources; Ability to work independently; Ability to closely follow established guidelines; Strong work ethic and commitment to job responsibilities, and the ability to type accurately and quickly on a computer.

Requirements:

  1. Commit to the Summer Conference schedule, including varying hours and on call requirements. A typical workweek will not exceed 40 hours.  Some evening and overnight hours may be required.
  2. Live in campus residence hall (Location TBD) May 14–August 10 (12 weeks)
  3. Have previous residential/communal living experience. Campus safety experience and/or three or more months hotel/hospitality experience preferred
  4. Have completed at least 24 course credits with a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA
  5. Be in good academic and social standing
  6. Attend all required trainings (times confirmed during interview process), staff meetings and 1-1 supervision meetings
