OVERVIEW

Through the guidance of the Neuroscience and Psychology Department faculty, such as Dr. Bish, I have gained an immense research experience. I predominantly do my research with Dr. Bish, which focuses on the long-term impacts of Mild-Traumatic Brain Injuries. From background research, utilization of technology such as EEG technology, to data collection and data analysis.

WHAT WAS VALUABLE ABOUT THE EXPERIENCE

The lab has not only fueled my passion for the field, but also has given me a sense of familiarity while administering a variety of Neuropsychological batteries, as well utilizing Neuroimaging technology. In turn, fostering a sense of curiosity and excitement for my future in the field. I believe this type of experience is what makes the Ursinus Neuroscience and Psychology community truly unique.

THE COOLEST PART OF THE EXPERIENCE

The coolest part of the experience was having the opportunity to present the results of our research at the APS Annual Convention in San Francisco. To see our team’s hard work manifest itself into a presentation at a national conference was truly a once and a lifetime experience. Not only were we able to share the results of our own study, but we were also able to gain insight on a wide variety of current projects within the scientific community.

WHO I MET THAT MADE A DIFFERENCE

My research team, as well as Dr. Bish, have been as a vital source of inspiration and knowledge for me from the very beginning of my research experience. The lab environment is incredibly inclusive and a space where our team shares insights, and collaborates to cultivate such an optimal learning environment. I am incredibly grateful for them, the guidance of Dr. Bish, and am very excited for the upcoming semester.
