Transfer story: While Ursinus was high on my list during my senior year of high school, I decided to attend a different college based on my financial situation. While that school was fairly similar to Ursinus in terms of campus size and type, I didn’t really feel connected to any of the faculty or staff, and I didn’t feel I was being challenged. It just felt like I was going to “go through the motions” for a couple years without any real growth if I stayed. Though I did make some wonderful friends, I soon realized that there was something unique about Ursinus that I was missing, and I decided to transfer after my freshman year.

Why Ursinus?: I was drawn into Ursinus because I felt it was a place where I would be challenged and supported academically (and otherwise). I wanted to find a place where I could be successful, but also grow as a student. The faculty and staff here really help guide you to wonderful opportunities and learning experiences. The professors give wonderful feedback and suggestions for growth (not just on a specific assignment, but as a whole), and the staff really try to find connections for students to engage with campus life. Not to mention, the campus is so friendly! It is so nice to walk through Olin plaza and see smiles on everyone’s faces! I love how engaged everyone is on campus, and how connected people are to one another.

Favorite activity / experience at Ursinus: That’s a tough one! I think one of my favorite experiences at Ursinus has been working in the Student Activities Office. It’s a great way to get to know the students and staff here, and it’s exciting to be a part of organizing events for other students! Helping clubs and and promoting weekend vibrancy has been an awesome experience in addition to my academic growth. Moreover, I’m grateful to work for Dean McKinney (who I met for lunch on my first day here!) in such a fun and fast-paced office! There are always things happening in the SAO, and I love being a part of it!
