Melissa Sanders Giess joined the Residence Life staff at Ursinus in 2006. She provides leadership and direction for the Assistant Director and Resident Advisor programs, housing selection processes, crisis management, and student conduct procedures. Melissa provides leadership within the department for designing opportunities that connect the student residential experience to the four open questions.
Melissa is very proud to be a member of the Ursinus residential community herself. She lives on campus with her partner, Ben, and three young children, Jack, Beatrice, and Paul. The Giess baby Bears love cheering for students at UC sporting events, eating in Wismer, climbing the LOVE statue, and playing in the field behind Reimert.
Prior to Ursinus, Melissa served as a Community Director at The George Washington University and the Coordinator of Student Academic Affairs at Franklin & Marshall College.
