Melissa Sanders Giess joined the Residence Life staff at Ursinus in 2006. She provides leadership and direction for the Assistant Director and Resident Advisor programs, housing selection processes, crisis management, and student conduct process. Melissa is currently designing opportunities that connect the student residential experience to the four open questions of Ursinus Quest. She will also teach CIE this fall.
Melissa is very proud to be a member of the Ursinus residential community. She lives on campus with her partner, Ben, and three young children, Jack, Beatrice, and Paul. The Giess baby Bears love cheering for students at UC sporting events, eating cereal in Wismer, climbing the LOVE statue, and playing in the field behind Reimert. They are currently accepting applications for new members of the PB&J Babysitters’ Club.
Prior to Ursinus, Melissa served as a Community Director at The George Washington University and the Coordinator of Student Academic Affairs at Franklin & Marshall College.
