Emily Cooper ’15

Major: Double major in Music and Politics

What are you doing now?: I am currently the Benefits Assistant at Duane Morris LLP. I am also a committeewoman for the Abington Rockledge Democratic Committee, an Area Representative on the Montgomery County PA Democratic Committee, and, when possible, participate in community theater through Music Mountain Theatre in Lambertville, NJ.

Why do I participate in GOLD Council?: Ursinus has given me so much my whole life. My father started working at Ursinus when I was 5 going on 6-years-old. I have had so many wonderful memories over the years, especially as a student from 2011-2015, and wanted to give back. With my passion for writing and alumni engagement, I knew that being on the GOLD Council and working on GOLD Standard was right for me, so when I was accepted to join GOLD Council in 2015, I was happy to join in on the publication.

Favorite UC Memory: Too many to count, so here are two -

  1. My Freshman move-in weekend was during Hurricane Irene, and the power went out for 16 hours - I made some of the greatest friendships I had in college during that time.
  2. The Music Department (I was in the 3rd class of Music Degree graduates!) played an annual game of Whammo! (whiffle ball) on the Berman Lawn and had snacks together to celebrate our year.
