Olivia Keithley ’16

Major: Politics, minors in education (honors) and African American Africana studies

What are you doing now?: I work for Bard College at Simon’s Rock as a Residence Director and teaching First Year Seminar (kind of like CIE).

Why you participate on the GOLD Council: I enjoy helping alumni stay connected to Ursinus and figuring out how we can work to support the current students.

Favorite UC memory: I took Religion and Civil Rights with Rev Rice by sophomore year and over spring break got to participate in a trip to Mississippi, Arkansas, and Tennessee in order to study and learn more about African American and civil rights history. That experience fueled my desire to do work rooted in justice and to make sure in my own teaching I’m connecting what we are studying with the real world.
