One thing you didn’t know about college coming in: I didn’t expect for school to feel like home. The friends I’ve made feel like my family and I even have some professors that take on a parental role at times. I expected it to be just a place I went and did homework, but it’s so much more than that now!
Why did you choose to work at the Ursinus Institute for Student Success (ISS)?: As a student with a learning disability, I’m really passionate about learner diversity and want to be a part of students succeeding despite any odds that may be against them. I want to go into education and eventually possibly administration on a secondary level, so I felt like this would be a good experience for me.
What’s the impact of ISS on the college in your opinion?: Students feel like they have a safe place to come and talk about their classes and grades with people who make them feel heard and comfortable. The new office is so inviting, students can do their homework or even just pop in to say hello. It’s nice when Dean’s and faculty are so accessible.
