Reena is responsible for providing direct clinical services to students, which includes individual and group therapy, assessment, outreach education, consultation to students, staff, and parents, and crisis intervention.
Reena Kolar, Ph.D. is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who specializes in trauma, including sexual assault, physical abuse, and domestic violence. Prior to joining the Ursinus Wellness Staff in January 2019, she worked in a variety of clinical settings such as residential treatment centers for at-risk youth, alternative schools for behaviorally and emotionally challenged children, community mental health centers, a treatment and research center for sexually and physically abused children, hospitals, and private practice.
Reena primarily uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), focusing on goal-oriented psychotherapy with a practical approach to problem-solving. Reena works with clients to challenge and change patterns of thinking or behavior, concentrating on understanding how thoughts and feelings influence behavior. She also enjoys helping clients learn skills and coping strategies to manage stress and anxiety in their daily life. Overall, Reena hopes to foster a safe and supportive environment and help students explore solutions that can have a lasting impact on their lives.
