How I Became Interested in Music

My grandmother was an opera singer, however, for me I have always enjoyed music but it wasn’t until high school when I joined the concert choir for my freshmen and sophomore years that I really started to enjoy singing music and that is also when I began taking piano lessons. I then got into the auditioned chorale choir for my junior and senior years as well as our mens accapella group and that is when I began to take music more seriously and treat it less like a hobby.

Current Musical Endeavors

My current musical endeavors lie within my piano playing, I hope to achieve a master level in my piano playing ability.

I sing in voices of ursinus, and I did one semester with the bearitones.

My Favorite Thing About Music

My favorite thing about music is the emotion, the power music has over emotion astonishes me and that is where I find the most joy in music. When I listen to music I am listening for the emotion, I don’t care to much about the technical side for me music is best when you are able to hear the soul of the composer in the piece or the song.

My future plans, I have not decided whether they will include music or not. I have never viewed music as a career choice, rather an expression of myself. Music is a part of me, and so I will always include music in my life. As for my future plans in general, to be honest I still don’t really know, I plan to go to grad school to get my masters in a HEP related masters but what that is I haven’t decided yet.
