Laura Cunningham

Laura joined the Institute for Student Success Office at Ursinus in July 2019. She is the Director of the Abele Scholars Program, which increases access and affordability of an undergraduate education for students from low- and middle-income families in Pennsylvania and adjacent states (DE/MD/NJ) who demonstrate academic potential, financial need and a desire for the individualized educational experience offered at Ursinus College. In her work with the Scholars, Laura coordinates professional and personal development activities, manages program logistics, and is an overall support to students at Ursinus.

Prior to joining the Ursinus community, Laura served as a Resident Director and Assistant Director of Service Opportunities for six years at Houghton College. Before that, she was an Area Director for YouthWorks and coordinated service learning opportunities across the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States.

Originally from the Harrisburg area, Laura is thrilled to once again be a Pennsylvania resident and has moved recently to King of Prussia along with her husband (Peter) and cat (Jack). In her spare time, Laura enjoys cooking, fumbling her way through Zumba routines, exploring new places, and catching up with people over coffee.
