Your name: Jessica Lawder
Hometown: King of Prussia, PA
Transfer story: I spent two years at Montgomery County Community College thinking I wasn’t worthy of a 4-year institution. I was given a second chance through completing the Bucknell Community College Scholars Program in Summer of 2018. After spending the summer with 24 incredibly persistent and intelligent students, my mindset was promptly corrected and I am now pursuing a Bachelor’s degree here at Ursinus.
Why Ursinus?: I wanted to attend an institution that offers an extensive music program. Ursinus is a great liberal arts college and ranks well throughout the country. Plus parts of my family live near Collegeville and it’s interesting knowing that I used to drive past Ursinus all the time and never thought I would end up here!
Favorite activity/experience at Ursinus: I love to write and produce music–available under the name Minty Vibes–and then perform it! I spent several Thursday nights at Steel City open mic nights this summer and hope to broaden my audience in the coming months.
