During my PhillyX experience I took two courses at Drexel University centered around my Ursinus concentrations of study. Engaging in a different academic environment in the city was eye opening to how larger universities worked, and was a great experience for higher learning that I would recommend Ursinus students take advantage of during their undergraduate education. While in Philadelphia I also sought out a legal internship with the criminal defense law firm Montoya Coleman. Working full time Monday, Wednesday and Friday was a fantastic experience where I got to work on real cases and sit in on court room trials. I worked on research for cases, briefs, and even got to write and edit a PA Superior Court appeal. This internship solidified my decision in going to law school, and allowed me to see what it was going to take to reach the next level in my educational journey. Thanks to PhillyX I was able to build confidence in my future, network with attorneys, and build my resume, which in turn ultimately helped me land a corporate law internship with the firm Stradley Ronon which I completed this past summer. Any students thinking about PhillyX should definitely consider it as part of their Ursinus experience.
