About
I am an author, actress, daydreamer, voracious read er, introvert, feminist, klutz, fangirl, and overuser of tape. I love the impossible (which might explain my obsessions with fantasy novels and Harry Potter) but I dip into the real world … occasionally. I’m a big fan of dogs, Broadway musicals, and bittersweet endings. When I’m not hunched over a laptop writing a new story, you can find me onstage in whatever theatrical production I’ve allowed to take over my life. I am a contributor to the “Fauxpocalypse” anthology and the author of “Instructions for Flight,” a collection of poetry. You can follow me on Twitter at @Magic_Violinist.
Most Memorable Moment in Class
I have many memorable moments in several different classes, but one of my favorite assignments was in my Intro to Shakespeare course in the fall semester of my freshman year. As part of a group project, I rewrote an entire scene from “Twelfth Night” in order to adapt it to be more modernized. My group worked together to reimagine Viola and Olivia as college students “Violet” and “Liv” and perform for our class. It was the most fun I’ve ever had with a collaborative project.
My Experience
I have been able to participate in so many exciting opportunities at Ursinus outside of class: I performed in “The Complete History of Ursinus (Abridged),” which was an original show written by Professor Domenick Scudera and was unlike any theatrical experience I’ve ever had; I performed in the B’Naturals a capella group; I directed “Peter/Wendy” for Breakaway Student Productions, which performed in the Blackbox Theater in December 2019; and I read and reviewed fiction submissions for The Lantern, the literary journal on campus. I am also an Abele Scholar, which is a group of engaged students dedicated to learning, giving back, and staying involved on campus and in the community.
