Why I became a chemistry major?

I wanted to become a Chemistry major because it is a field that is very interesting to me especially since everything comes back to Chemistry.

My experience as a chemistry major

I love being a Chemistry major because the department has such a close knit community from the monthly Chemistry Teas on Fridays to the support professors and colleagues offer. I know that if I have an issue I can count on others for help.

My most memorable moment has been working as a lab teaching assistant. By doing this, it has given me more hands on experience explaining what needs to be done for each lab. I find it extremely rewarding to see students successfully complete a lab which began with some challenges for them.

I struggled a bit when I first began the journey as a chemistry major but remain determined and you will succeed, just keep your head up and you’ll make it happen.

Research

In the fall of 2020, I will be joining Dr. Ellison’s research team. His research team works with carbon nanotubes and drug delivery. This is an interesting topic for me as I want to pursue a career in Pharmacology.

Life After Ursinus

After Ursinus I plan to pursue a degree in Pharmacology and go into a career in drug research and development.
